Just fix it.

What do you do when a car has a faulty wire? What do you do when your pants have a tear? What do you do when there is a crack in a window?

All these things have the same type of answer. You fix it.

Life is full of mistakes. There is no getting around them.

If you break something you fix it. The same goes for mistakes. You make one and so you fix it.

The key word is being YOU. YOU have to take the wheel. YOU are the only one who can change what has happened. If YOU sit there and complain about how bad things are then how is anything ever going to be fixed.

There is no excuse to sit around hoping someone or something will fix your problems just like that. YOU need to look in the mirror and ask yourself...What is it that I can try to improve on or accomplish...

If you think that life is so terrible and you can't bear it, then why not look at yourself and see why that is. Is it because you are to hard on yourself? Is it because you don't want to change? What is it that holds you back from changing the things that need to be changed?

Everyone has a choice whether to take the life that has been given them and use it to its full, or sit around and wish that you were someone else.

YOU are who YOU are for a reason. Don't waste your life thinking nothing goes right because there is one thing that you can be certain of. YOU were born for a reason. You may not know what that reason is, but if you keep trying your best to improve and challenge yourself, there is no telling what you can do.

So stop looking at what you could have done then and start looking at what you can do now.

Most importantly, ask God for help. He made you, He knows you, and He loves you. Use what He has given you.

"For I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13

Jumping into the River

I was asked to write about the temptations of going with the crowd rather than staying true to my beliefs. Well for one thing it is a great challenge. I am constantly tempted to just act like everyone else so I don't stand out. With that in mind I want to stand out to be able to reach more people with what I believe in. There are many different things that I am tempted with that would just make me like everyone else. For example; smoking, swearing, sex, alcohol, etc. These things are ever present in my mind and in the people that I am around. These things seem so harmless and fun that it would be easy to be swayed if everyone else is doing it. A simple analogy of this is with a river. Over the summer I went on a trip called Lightrider. In this trip we went whitewater rafting. At one point in time we were allowed to jump out of the rafts and swim in the low current of the river. At first I was hesitant because I did not know what dangers lay beneath the surface of the water. After a while most everyone was in the water but me. After I saw lots of my friends were in I felt like if everyone was doing it I might as well. Although this analogy has an extreme jump to get to my meaning, it still shows the problems in being part of the crowd. You want to stay with your beliefs but then you see everyone else is doing these fun things. You want to "jump" in with it because you think that you will have fun. However the problem is that you are compromising what your beliefs are and just assimilating into what people want you to be. This is why I see that it is important to stay with what I believe in and to not sway from those beliefs.

Now for those who have already started or have been in the crowd. There is still hope, there is always hope. First you need to decide whether you are going to be committed to change your way of living to what you should be living according to God. Once you have decided you should stop doing the things you know are wrong or sinful. From my viewpoint, I see it as a great testimony to those around you. Think about what your friends would experience and see what is happening to you. They would constantly be asking what or why you are changing. I am not saying that it will be easy to change or take the questions and possible dirty looks, but you will be able to turn your life around and show those around you that you are different from everyone else.

I hope these words show you the significance of being yourself and being true to what you believe in and not joining the crowd because of what they are doing.

Sorry

I am sorry everyone! I haven't written in so long. I have been really busy with school and church and other things. One thing is that I am starting to write a book/devotional that include these last posts and more things. I hope to finish that before the end of the year at the earliest. I could really use your guys' ideas to write about for the blog. If you have something you have been thinking about or have on your heart please tell me and I will try my best to write about it. Thanks guys and sorry again for taking so long to write.
